Luck
Luck means the meeting point of effort with opportunity.
Though, this word is generally misunderstood and misinterpreted by most. Today, I shall tell you a story. Once upon a time, there was a boy called Anuj. He considered himself to be the most unlucky person on earth. He always wanted things to work in his favour. He used to always crib about his condition. One day, an astrologer told him if you want your stars to work in your favor, want to become rich. Then, go eastwards climb a hill. There you will find a messenger of good fortune, ask for his blessings and advice. You shall become lucky.
Anuj ran as fast as possible. On the way, he met a Lion. The lion wanted to eat him. But he requested him to spare him as he was on his way to meet fortune. So the lion left him on the condition that he should ask a question to fortune on behalf of the lion. The question was, ‘I eat all the living beings possible but I still remain hungry. How and when will my hunger be satisfied”? Anuj assured him of the answer and moved further. A Little ahead he met a very beautiful girl. The girl was very upset. When Anuj stopped to ask her the reason of her depression. She said, I fail to understand, I am so stunning, yet nobody wants to marry me. Anuj said, don’t worry I am going to meet Fortune, I shall ask him your question.
As he was heading towards the hill he met a huge tree. It was next to a flowing river. The tree said, Please ask fortune, I get enough water, sunlight and air. Yet, I remain dry, why don’t I grow? Anuj said o.k. I shall ask fortune your question as well. He ran towards the hill.
On reaching there, he met FORTUNE. he told about his misfortune. Fortune blessed him, removed his jinx and said, go, now onwards your luck will favor you.Anuj also asked the answers to the questions of the Lion, girl and the tree.
He was now a lucky fellow, bubbling with excitement he ran back towards his house. He told the tree, there is a pot of gold under you, if someone digs it out ,you shall be green. The tree said, ‘Why don’t you dig and take out the pot of gold. Anuj said, forget it, now I am a lucky person. Why should I waste my time for a pot of gold? He moved ahead.
When the girl asked the answer to her question, Anuj said, If you marry a simple young boy, your life would be very successful. The girl
Blushed and proposed him to marry her. He turned down the offer by saying, now I am a lucky boy. Why should I marry a simple girl like you? Anuj had become arrogant. He thought Fate was everything in life. Now that he was lucky, everything would fall in place automatically.
Then he met the lion, he said, If you eat a foolish person your hunger would be satisfied. The lion pounced on him and ate him up.
Moral of the story : Luck shall favor the person who makes use of his brain and takes advantage of the opportunities that comes his way.
